What Does it mean to be baptized?
Going under the water symbolizes the death of Christ. Coming up out of the water represents the resurrection of Christ. When we go under the water, it’s symbolic of the fact that we have died to ourselves and self-centered living. When we come back out of the water we are symbolizing our new life in Christ!
Baptism is not an act by which we are saved.We believe that baptism is a step of obedience every follower of Jesus should make - an outward sign of what Christ has already done in our hearts. If you are unsure of where you stand with Christ, take your time.
